1Once a gay marriage is official, should it have the possibility to be revoked?

This political cartoon uses exageration to show how a gay couple can be told that they could get married, then have the possibility of having it taken away in no time at all. By the author using exageration, it helps people understand just how easily a gay couple that can legally get married have it taken away.

2Would divorce rate differ from gay people and traditional marriages?

This cartoon uses labeling of the two types of marriage to express the author's point. I think that labeling was used to help clearly state what the author's message was; that gay marriage is thought to last longer because it is something that isn't necessarily given to them. Traditional marriage can be seen as taken for granted since it's much easier to do. The cartoon shows that the wife could get a divorce because its seen as easier for her to get married again in a traditional marriage. Gay marriages take time to get to have, and sometimes the people wanting one can't even get one.

3How does gay marriage effect other people?

I think that the author created this cartoon to make people question if gay marriage effects other people. The answer would be no, other people bring themselves into it with their own opinions. Sybolism is used because the man in the white suite is wearing a cross, which is from the religion that is known to be most unsupportive with gay marriage.

4Should gay people be treated differently then straight people?

The author of this cartoon used an analogy between the two water fountains. The straight one is seen as more "up scale" while the gay one is more run down and not as taken care of. I think that by this the author meant to show how differently people treat gay people from straight. Even though they shouldn't be, gay people are usually treated poorly by other's.

5Is using the topic of gay marriage for political gain right?

The author of this cartoon exhibits how legalizing gay marriage has become for political gain. Some politicians have decided to try to get it legalized to gain voters, while other's have openly been against it to also gain voters. In my opinion, using the topic of gay marriage for political gain. Not only because it's mostly just used to gain popularity, but also, if someone was to say that they were for it, they more then likely wouldn't do much to legalize it if they were elected.
