8Writing Workshop forms and much much more!
“Teachers underestimate their power. As a profession we need to speak out. For too long we've worked in isolation. We need to collaborate and we need to plan and reflect together. Bring down the walls that divide us as we form our own learning communities.” ~Lucy Calkins

9Warning: Students must do the work!
Warning: You must allow your students to work!
Let it go! Release the power! Relax! Feel the Force, Luke (JK)!
Your enthusiasm for their writing will be the most important factor for making them enjoy it! Your praise will fuel their passion and give them permission to explore their own paths in writing. Stop trying to control everything and allow your students to emerge as writers. That is what they will remember from you. Trust me- they will learn complex sentences and plu-perfect, even if they didn't get it this year.
Make it fun, engaging and inviting. You can do it!
