Section 1: Characteristics of Birds

     - scales on legs and feet (like reptiles!)

     - have amniotic eggs, but the shells are harder than reptile shells

     - endothermic

     - have a beak instead of jaws and teeth

     - have high metabolisms

     - build nests and brood, or sit on their eggs to keep them warm
